It has been an incredibly tough year for many with an ever-increasing number of people unable to afford the food they need to feed their families and themselves. This year, we have chosen to donate to FareShare UK.
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 17 independent organisations. Together, they take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups.
The food they redistribute is nutritious, in-date and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week FareShare provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
We recently sponsored new kit for a local football team, The Raptors who play for Yateley FC Youth Team. As you can see the team look very smart and we wish you all the best for the new season! The Raports have kindly agreed to donate all of their kit after use and any other additional kit they may no longer need. With the help of our contacts, the donated kit will be distributed to local schools in Sierra Leone to children and teenagers who are less fortunate. We have previously done a similar project in Liberia, Mark Mansfield distributed kits donated from members of Holyport FC to the children of West Point, Monrovia. In the following link you can watch the distribution of the kits.
